私は、金継ぎを単なる修理技法としてではなく、器と向き合う姿勢として捉えています。

壊れた器を前にしたとき、どこまで直すのか。どこで手を止めるのか。その器は、これからどのように使われていくのか。
そうした問いに向き合い続ける中で、自然素材への敬意、時間を引き受ける工程、使われる風景を視野に入れた直し方が、私の中で一つの考え方として形になっていきました。

それが、金継ぎ道®です。

金継ぎ道®は、流派や技法を定めるものではありません。また、正解を示すための考え方でもありません。

器・素材・時間・使う人との関係に対して、どのような姿勢で向き合うのか。その判断の軸を、七つの指針として言葉にしています。

私自身は、本漆を用いた金継ぎを通して、漆芸の技術や先人の知恵に学びながら、
 一つひとつの器と向き合ってきました。

技術を誇ることよりも、工程を急がないこと。
完成を主張することよりも、再び使われる場所へ戻すこと。

そうした選択の積み重ねが、作品や言葉の中に、静かに現れていればよいと考えています。

金継ぎ道®は、広めるための道ではなく、日々の実践の中で滲んでいく道です。

この場所では、その考え方と実践を、必要な方にだけ、静かに差し出しています。

I understand kintsugi not simply as a repair technique, but as an attitude toward the vessel itself.
 When facing a broken piece, I continue to ask: how far should it be repaired, and where should I stop?
 How will this vessel be used from now on?

Through continuing to face these questions, a way of thinking gradually took shape within me—
 one that honors natural materials, accepts time as part of the process, and considers the scenes in which the vessel will be used again.
 This way of thinking is what I call Kintsugi-dō®.

Kintsugi-dō® does not define a school or prescribe specific techniques, nor does it present a single correct answer.
 Rather, it clarifies the attitude with which one faces the relationships between the vessel, the materials, time, and the person who uses it.
 These points of judgment are expressed through seven guiding principles.

Through kintsugi using natural urushi lacquer, I have learned from lacquer techniques and the wisdom passed down by those before me,
 while facing each vessel one by one.
 I value not rushing through the process over displaying technique,
 and returning a vessel to a place where it can be used again over asserting its completion.

If these accumulated choices quietly appear within the works and the words, that is enough.

Kintsugi-dō® is not a path meant to be widely spread,
 but one that gently seeps through daily practice.
 Here, this way of thinking and its practice are offered quietly, only to those who feel the need to receive them.
